Goodbye Kuler.

A great idea lies somewhere within.

If you have any Adobe application installed on your computer you most likely know about Kuler. Its a quirky, flawed social website focused on sharing & rating color pallets that has always been bursting with potential to be a great design tool, if only Adobe put a little more effort into it. Sadly this lack of effort has caused an uprising of people disembarking from Kuler, so much so that posts have turned into support groups rather than a critique. My personal favorite example of this is the color pallet Goodbye Kuler, not so much for the colors used but for the community support to try and turn this persons view on what Kuler has become and instill hope and change. As I move forward with our new website color design, I will be visiting Kuler more, not just for the color pallets but to get my daily fill of drama.
Dear Adobe,
Please don’t change a thing...

Coffee Makes You Smart?

100% Columbia
While working on our new website at our Gahanna office I stopped and got a cup of coffee from the hotel lobby on my way in. This hotel looked to have a little secret that I am sure could change the beverage industry like RedBull did in the late 90’s.  The words “Smart ROAST” on my cup, named like a MMO relic gives you the power of smart....? But how smart, if you were a 5 are you now a 6 or does it spike us at 100% like that new movie Limitless. As I sipped and awaited the effects of this mysterious power, finally I came to the conclusion that I must already be turned up to 11. I didn’t feel any different than normal, unless that is the true genius of the “smart ROAST”.
RedBull you are safe... For now.
